SD A FASCINATING ROOM DIVIDER WITH ANTHROPOMORPHIC FORM, ETHIOPIA( No 2868)

This is a rare room divider from the Gurage
tribe of Ethiopia. Used to mark out the space
inside a hut. The form is rare. We havent
seen one like this with a ball like 'head' on
top. The shaft is unusually slender with some
old nails at the bottom. Has a well developed
patina. The ball has some pitting. Has wear
commensurate with tribal use and a lot of
character. In solid condition. We guarantee
that this item has been tribally used. Metal
stand included. H approx 140 cm
