This is a ceremonial axe from the Fon tribe of Benin west Africa. Features a kneeling woman with another head coming out of her head. There is an iron axe protruding from the top head's mouth.  It is expressively carved with monocrhomatic paint colour scheme.  The patina is moderately developed.  In good condition. Minor wear only. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height 40cm approx
