A TEXTURAL FETISH FIGURE, EWE TRIBE OF GHANA ( No 2690)

This is a simple power figure from the Ewe tribe of Ghana. The face is depicted with holes drilled for the eyes and mouth.  A textural talismanic assemblage, consisting of a simple wooden figure, with a mysterious bump of talismans hidden underneath cotton cloth, and a metal axe on the other side.  The patina has a thick coating of offerings ceremonially applied. The patina is deeply encrusted.  Good collectable condition, with wear. Custom mounted.  We guarantee this item has been tribally used. Height approx 24cm
