A large and tribally used Ndop, strip weave fabric from Cameroon, West Africa.  Made of hand spun cotton.  Dyed with indigo using a resist dye process.  Has a particularly large and spacial design.  Women artisans stitch in the geometrical resist design in raphia thread, which is dyed with indigo. The geometric shapes are all symbolic. Mounted on a thin wooden stretcher frame.  In solid original condition with wear.  Height  approx 120 x 90cm
