A SIMPLE IRON CURRENCY FROM KIRDI TRIBE OF CAMEROON, WEST AFRICA( No 1867)

This is a simple iron currency from Cameroon. In the shape of an agricultural hoe which was a sign of wealth.  Made of iron, which was considered to be magical, and had inherent value. A very simple indigenous style, with a used and oxidised patina. In good condition.  We guarantee this item has been tribally used.  Does not stand unassisted. Height approx 20cm
