This is a sculptural leather cushion from the Tuareg tribe of Niger, West Africa.  Nomadic travellers who operate the camel caravans that traverse the Sahara. Probably would go on top of the camel and also in their desert tent. Made of hand processed and dyed leather,  with intricate geometric cut out patterns, including multi-tiered tassels.  Has a used patina, obviously darkened  and softened with age.  In good condition with some wear.  Height approx 50 cm
