This is a rare hat from the Waadabe tribe of Niger, West Africa. Nomadic travellers throughout the Sahara. Made of handwoven cotton textile, with intricate geometric embroidered patterns. Features a glass bead and cowrie shell perimeter. The interior is made of handwoven strip weave cloth. This is a labour of love. Each element is hand crafted and uniquely combined. Has a used patina. In good condition with some west. Width approx 25cm
