This is a massive wooden shield from the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Has traditional concave form with a striking painted design. The handle on the back has probably been replaced. The patina is moderate. In good condition with wear, there is a metal indigenous repair and some weathering. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 200cm
