This is a sculptural altar figure from Senoufo people of the Ivory Coast, west Africa.  The
form is finely and characteristically carved.  Depicts a female figure with a large, fecund stomach and breasts, with a water bowl on balanced on the head.  Highly stylised form with a monochromatic, black and white painted patina which is nicely worn and slightly encrusted.  Has a nicely developed patina, sculptural form, and is in good condition.   Wear is commensurate with tribal use. In good condition.   We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. H approx 22 cm
