This is a sculptural altar figure from Senufo people of the Ivory Coast, west Africa.  The
form is finely and characteristically carved.  Depicts a female figure with a large, fecund stomach,  breasts and haircrest.  She is nursing babies on her lap.  The patina is a monochromatic off white paint which is nicely worn.  Has a well developed patina, sculptural form, and is in sound condition. Wear is commensurate with tribal use. In good condition.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. H approx 30cm
