This is a primal mask from Bambara / Bamana people of Mali, west Africa, representing a monkey.  Has pared down, semi abstract form, with interesting ears made of rubber and metal teeth.  Has a nail in the top of the head that centres the spiritual charge.  The patina is well developed with burnished engravings.  In good original condition. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Base not included. Height 25cm approx
