A RARE TOPENG SKULL MASK FROM JAVA INDONESIA ( No 4068 )

This is a rare minimalist theatre mask from Java, Indonesia depicting a skull .  It is unusual because it is so elemental - without the bottom part of the face, from the top row of teeth down.   Features well developed painted patina which is obviously old and extends to the back.  In good collectable condition with wear. Stand can be included but not custom made.  We guarantee this item has been indigenously used. Height of mask approx 20cm
