A stunning Firespitter mask from the Senoufo tribe of Burkina Faso from the poro secret society. The form is complicated, with a variety of animals, including elephants on the snout which is rare. Made of wood, with a really old and genuine polychrome patina. The painted colours make an oblique reference to the French flag. Its animal motifs include the buffalo, the warthog, the crocodile, the antelope and there are birds and elephants. It is in excellent, solid condition with wear.
