A DRAMATIC COWRIE SHELL ENCRUSTED FETISH NECKLACE, FON TRIBE OF BENIN( No 2032)

This is a dramatic cowrie shell and leather
fetish necklace from the Fon people of Benin.
Made from leather with a solid core of clay,
whole cowrie shells, and leather. The patina
is encrsuted as one would expect. In good
condition, one cowrie shell missing. The
patina is old and well developed. We guaran-
tee that this item has been tribally used.
