A CROCODILE SHAPED DOOR LOCK FROM THE DOGON TRIBE FROM MALI W.AFRICA( No 3033 )

This is an extra large size, crocodile shaped door lock from the Dogon people of Mali, West Africa. Used to lock important gates or doors, like the granary or a chiefs abode.  This example is very large and representative of a crocodile.  The whole body of the crocodile is depicted.  A fine example with a nicely developed patina.   In good condition with wear. We guarantee this item has been tribally used. Height approx 60 cm
