This is a stunning rare large statue from the Mende tribe of Sierra Leone . I think this is the first statue from them we have had . They are more well known for the helmet masks . This came from an UK collection and shows good age . Excellent used patina . Articulated arms with nails . It does stand up unsupported but would benefit from stand .. In good condition, old break to one foot . Wear commensurate with tribal use. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 45cm
