A WELL PATINATED ADAN ANCESTIR FIGURE FROM GHANA W.AFRICA ( No 2553)

This is a characterful ancestor figure from the Adan people of Ghana west Africa. The patina is seriously old.  We sold this to a collector about 25 years ago and bought it back.  Has a mottled complexion due to ceremonial libations and remnants of kaolin pigment. .Attractive abstracted and unique form, with a unique facial expression that is masterful in its minimalism.   In good condition with wear.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 18cm
