This is a striking animal mask from the Mossi tribe of Burkina Faso..  Depicts a totemic animal- possibly a hyaena. Features a long snout, jagged teeth and crested hair. Appealing cubist form with black and white painted patina.  It made from a dense and heavy African hardwood.  The patina shows its age and wear.  In good condition.
