This is a small, intricate embossed leather shield from Somalia, East Africa. What sets this shield apart from the crowd is its neat form, excellent condition and fantastic red ink geometric painting around its handle. The patina is well developed. This is at least from the early 1900s, if not before , it’s in good condition. We guarantee this item has been tribally used. Width approx 30 cm.
