This is a striking and large polychrome gelede mask from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, West Africa. Has fine form with huge animal ears and an animal crouched on the back. Ex UK collection . This is a very nice example of these type . The patina is well developed with obvious age to the paint and signs of attachments around base . In good condition, with wear. No stand included. Height approx 50cm
