This is a striking gigantic mask from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, West Africa. Features Janus faces to symbolise omniscience. The form is massive and very three dimensional. The patina has layers of paint with the top layer being foreman’s red.Heavy wood . It is old and has some losses to what looks like a crown on top of the head. In good solid condition, with wear to top ridges . Width approx 50cm
