A CHIEFS FACE EX GOLD LEAF, BAULE TRIBE IVORY COAST ( No 2368)

This is a large vintage chiefs motif from a traditional headdress , from the Baule people of the Ivory Coast, West Africa. The motif represents the royal lineage.  Well engraved so the real gold leaf that was applied would glint in the sun.  Made of wood, covered in gold for prestige. Has remnants at the rear. In good condition.  Wear commensurate with tribal use. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Stand included. Height 12cm approx
