A BIG, VERT DE GRIS 18THC AKAN GOLD MEASURING SCALE PAN FROM BAULE TRIBE IVORY COAST W.AFRICA( No 2351)

This is a large and beautifully patinated, gold measuring scale pan from the Akan region of west Africa.  Hung with string with another pan -on the other side -in order to weight gold.  The patina of the metal has darkened with age with vert de gris spots on the front and the back.  In good condition with wear. Mounted on  metal base.  We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. In good width approx 8cm
