AN ELEGANT HONEY POT FROM TUTSI TRIBE OF RWANDA E. AFRICA( No 2309)

This is a statuesque Tutsi honey pot from Rwanda. Simple form with pretty metal indigenous metal repairs that have been applied at different times during its working life, using different metals.  Has a nicely used patina.  Made of a reddish honey coloured African hardwood, with a good weight.   Used to contain food stuffs, including honey. In good condition. Has wear commensurate with tribal use. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 35cm
