This is an awesome large chair from the Fon tribe of Benin, west Africa. Substantial and heavy form, made from a very dense African hardwood. The patina is incredibly old and weathered from extended use. Unique form with lions at the handles and pedestal which was hard to find. The back is higher than others we have had. In solid condition with indigenous repairs and deep weathering. The seat has wood rings which have been revealed over time. We guarantee that this item has been indigenously Height approx 110cm
