A large mounted, abstract   Ndop, strip weave fabric from Cameroon, West Africa.  It is old and made using  pure, hand spun cotton.  Dyed with indigo using a resist dye process using raffia thread. Has a particularly  contemporary compatible design.  Women artisans stitch in the geometrical resist design pattern, which is then dipped in indigo. Mounted on a thin wooden stretcher frame.  In good original condition with wear.  Height  approx 90 x 60cm
