A SEATED LOBI THIL FIGURE, BURKINA FASO ( No 2775 )

This is a finely carved Thil figure from the Lobi people of Burkina Faso. depicts a human form sitting on a stool.  The form is sensitively carved and is more detailed and precise than most. The profile shows the protruding belly button and bulging buttocks. Has a well developed patina with different sculptural form, and it’s in good condition. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. H approx 25cm
