A SCULPTURAL ALTAR FIGURE, SENOUFO TRIBE iVORY COAST W.AFRICA ( No 2932 )

This is a sculptural altar figure from Senoufo people of the Ivory Coast, west Africa.  The
form is finely and characteristically carved.  Depicts a female figure with a large, fecund stomach and breasts.  The patina is slightly encrusted and nicely worn.  Sculptural form, and is in good condition, but the tip of one ear is eroded.   Wear commensurate with tribal use. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. H approx 22 cm
