A PRETTY SET OF 4 BAULE TRIBE PINK SHELLS , IVORY COAST ( No 4045 )

A set of 4 medium sized Baule tribe pecten shells. These were traded into the Ivory Coast and swapped for gold in the 19THC, as they were coveted for their coral colour.  They were often  attached to prestige items, including belts, daggers, necklaces and gun powder cases.  In good condition.  We guarantee this item has been tribally used . Width up to 5 cm.
