A METAL TOOTHED MASK FROM SUKUMA TRIBE TANZANIA E. AFRICA ( No 4083 )

This is a very large and  dramatic mask from the Sukuma tribe of Tanzania. Has simple yet striking form, with large rectangular apertures for the mouth and eyes and metal teeth .    An evocative example, glowing deep coloured pigment patina.  Many signs of tribal use.  In good collectable condition, with wear.  We guarantee this item has been tribally used.  Does not stand up without a base, which is not included.  Height of mask only 40cm
