A LONG BRASS NECKLACE WITH CATFISH PENDANT , IVORY COAST ( No 4982 )

This is a long and intricate vintage guilt brass,  prestige necklace  from the Baule tribe of the Ivory Coast, West Africa.  Worn as adornment at weddings and other special occasions.  The complicated  vintage brass hand made chain coupled with the lost wax brass pendant depicting a catfish which is a symbol of the Queen mother.   Has a nice patina that has deepened with age.  In good condition. Height 50cm  approx
