A BLACK BIRD MASK WITH CREST, GURUNSI TRIBE BURKINA FASO W.AFRICA ( No 2920 )

This is a large bird mask from the Gurunsi tribe of Burkina Faso, West Africa.  Attractive exaggerated features with  a shark fin shaped bird crest and diamond shaped lips.  Globular protruding eyes.  A nicely developed dark patina with some encrustation.  In good collectable condition. There is erosion at the back edge.  We guarantee this item has been tribally used. Height of mask approx  45cm
